Honest questions

How do I get to heaven?

The short answer

Not by being good enough, no one is, on their own. Christians believe heaven is God's gift, opened by Jesus and received by faith rather than earned by works. The way is not a checklist but a person: Jesus said, 'I am the way.' Receive His forgiveness, follow Him, and the door is open.

Many assume heaven is earned by being a good enough person. The surprising message of Christianity is that no one is good enough on their own, and that we don't have to be. Heaven is God's gift, opened by Jesus.

The way is not a checklist but a person: trust in Jesus, who said, 'I am the way.' Receive His forgiveness, follow Him, and the door is open.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith... not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 · King James Version (public domain)
