Lay it down, and walk free
There is a weight you have carried for a long time, a wrong you keep rehearsing in the dark. You are not asked to pretend it never happened. You are invited to bring it to the One who forgave you first, and to let it go into hands stronger than yours.
What you can do here
A first, honest step
Begin small. Bring one name to Jesus and say aloud what they did, without softening it. Then pray, in your own words, that God would help you release the debt the way He released yours. If the feeling has not caught up, that is alright; forgiveness is a decision before it is a warmth. Let the prayer be brief and repeated. Carry the unspeakable part to the secret place, and let a friend help you carry it. You may need to forgive again tomorrow. Grace is patient.
