A Christian View of Money
The Bible talks about money more than almost anything, not because God wants ours, but because He knows our hearts tend to follow our treasure.
It all belongs to God
Christians are called to hold money with open hands, as stewards rather than owners. Everything we have is a gift entrusted to us by God, to be used well.
Guard against greed
Jesus warned that we cannot serve both God and money. The love of money quietly enslaves; contentment sets us free. Enough, received with gratitude, is a feast.
Give generously
Generosity is one of the surest antidotes to greed, and the Bible promises that a giving life is a blessed one. 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
Trust God to provide
Worry about provision loses its grip when we remember that our Father feeds the birds and clothes the fields. Seek His kingdom first, and trust Him with the rest.
“Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
