A Bible reading plan for

Busy People (5 Minutes a Day)

7 days, about 5 minutes each

No time is the most honest reason people give for not reading the Bible, and this plan takes it seriously. Each of these seven days is one short, rich passage you can read in about five minutes, proving that a small, steady habit beats a big plan you abandon. God meets the busy in the minutes they actually have.

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”Psalm 46:10 (KJV)

The plan, day by day

  1. Day 1

    Psalm 23

The whole psalm in a minute, and enough peace for the whole day. Read it slowly; let the Shepherd lead.

  2. Day 2

    Matthew 6

Take no thought for the morrow. Seek first the kingdom. A few verses to reset your priorities.

  3. Day 3

    Psalm 46

Be still, and know that I am God. One line to carry into a hectic day.

  4. Day 4

    Philippians 4

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer. Trade five minutes of worry for five minutes of asking.

  5. Day 5

    Psalm 91

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High. A quick shelter for an exposed, busy life.

  6. Day 6

    Proverbs 3

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. Six verses of steadying wisdom for your decisions.

  7. Day 7

    Matthew 11

Come unto me, all ye that labour. End the week by handing Him the load you have been carrying.

A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.

Where this plan is leading

Even Jesus, with crowds pressing and endless demands, withdrew to be with His Father. He was never too busy for the one thing that mattered most. He invites you, in the middle of your full life, to a few honest minutes with Him, and He is able to do more in five surrendered minutes than you could in an hour of striving.

Questions people ask

Can I really read the Bible in just 5 minutes a day?

Yes. A single psalm or a short passage takes only a few minutes, and a small habit you keep every day is far better than a long one you abandon. Consistency matters more than length. This plan gives you one short, meaningful reading a day to prove it.

How do busy people build a Bible habit?

Anchor it to something you already do, coffee, a commute, the moment before bed, and keep it tiny at first. Even one verse counts. Keep your Bible or the app one tap away, and give yourself grace on the days you miss. A five-minute habit that lasts will feed you far more than an ambitious plan that fizzles.

Is a short quiet time enough?

God is not measuring minutes. He treasures a real, honest turning to Him, however brief. Five attentive minutes with God, done daily, keeps the relationship alive and often grows naturally over time. Start where you are; He meets you there.
