A Bible reading plan for
When You Feel Stressed
7 days, about 10 minutes a day
When the demands pile up and your shoulders never come down, a few minutes in these words can loosen the grip of stress. This seven-day plan hands the load, one day at a time, to the God who invites the weary to come to Him and finally rest.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
The plan, day by day
Day 1
Come unto me, all ye that labour. The first move under stress is not to try harder but to come to Him.
Day 2
He makes me lie down, He leads me beside still waters. Let the Shepherd set the pace today.
Day 3
Be careful for nothing; by prayer let your requests be known. Trade the churning for asking, one worry at a time.
Day 4
Consider the lilies. Your Father knows what you need before you ask. Seek first His kingdom and let tomorrow keep its own worries.
Day 5
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. You were never meant to carry it all yourself.
Day 6
Cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. The load has somewhere to go besides your own chest.
Day 7
My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. His presence is the rest you are looking for.
A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.
Where this plan is leading
Jesus said, come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. He does not offer a life with no pressure, but His own presence as a yoke that fits, carried beside you. The rest He gives is not a vacation from your life; it is Himself, with you in it.

What does the Bible say about stress?
The Bible does not shame the stressed; it invites them to hand the weight to God. Jesus offers rest to the weary (Matthew 11:28), Peter says cast all your care on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7), and Paul replaces anxious striving with prayer and the peace of God (Philippians 4:6-7).
Can reading the Bible reduce stress?
For many people, a short daily reading quiets the racing mind and re-anchors the day in something steady. It is not a magic cure, and it works alongside rest, help, and wise limits, but returning to God's Word and God's presence is one of the deepest ways to unclench a stressed heart.
What is a good Bible verse for stress relief?
Matthew 11:28, come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, is one of the most loved. Philippians 4:6-7 and Psalm 23 are also gentle places to begin when the pressure feels like too much.
