Who Was Eve in the Bible?
Eve was the first woman, formed by God as a companion for Adam and called the mother of all living, who shared in the fall and in the first promise of hope.
Eve was made by God to stand beside Adam, not beneath him or above him, a fitting helper drawn from his very side. Adam named her Eve, meaning life, because she was the mother of all who would come after.
Deceived by the serpent, Eve took the forbidden fruit and gave to her husband, and the world was changed. Yet it was to Eve that the first gospel promise was spoken: her seed would one day crush the head of the serpent.
