The words of Jesus
What Did Jesus Say About His Return?
Jesus promised, more than once, that He would come again. Here is what He said about His return.
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Jesus, in John 14:3, King James Version
He is coming back to bring His own home to Himself.
“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven... and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Jesus, in Matthew 24:30, King James Version
His return will be unmistakable and glorious.
“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Jesus, in Matthew 24:42, King James Version
Live ready, since the day is unknown.
“For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.”
Jesus, in Matthew 16:27, King James Version
He comes as King and Judge to set all things right.
“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
Jesus, in Revelation 22:12, King James Version
His last promise is that He is coming.
Come to Him
Jesus calls His return the blessed hope. It means the end of every tear and the joy of seeing Him face to face. He has promised, and He is faithful.
His words were always meant to lead you to Himself. You can begin with Jesus here, ask someone to pray with you, or read His words in the Bible.
