Does the Universe Have a Plan for Me?
Many people sense that their life is not random, that something larger is at work. That instinct is right, but the universe itself is not a mind; it cannot plan, love, or know your name. When people say the universe has a plan, they are usually saying something beautiful: that their suffering is not meaningless, that their path is going somewhere, that they are held. Underneath the fashionable phrase is an old and holy hope: that we are not accidents. That hope is not naive. It is one of the truest things about being human, and it deserves an answer better than blind chance.
What is really being offered
The trouble is that the universe, taken as an impersonal force, cannot carry that hope. A plan requires a planner. Gravity and galaxies do not intend good for you; only a mind can intend. To say the universe has a plan is really to reach for a Person while trying not to name him. The Bible dares to name him, and to say his plans for you are thoughts of peace, and that even your worst days can be woven into good.
Where the longing points
Jesus is the clearest proof that the plan is personal. God did not stay a distant force; he came, with a face and a name, and gave his life for you. Your days were written in his book before one of them existed. The One holding your story is not a cold cosmos but a Father who counts your tears and calls you his own. That is far better news than a universe with a plan. It is a God with a heart.

Isn't it comforting to think the universe is looking out for me?
It is comforting until you need to be heard, forgiven, or held. An impersonal universe can do none of those. The Christian claim is not less comforting but more: the One behind everything is a Person who loves you and can be spoken to.
Does God really have a plan for my specific life?
Yes. Scripture says your days were known and your steps are directed by God. His plan is not a rigid script that removes your choices, but a good purpose he is working out, even through your mistakes, for those who love him.
