A movement where Christ is named
Desiring God
Evangelism & teaching · by John Piper · Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
Desiring God is a Christian teaching ministry built around the preaching and writing of pastor John Piper, taking its name from his book by the same title. Its mission is to help people everywhere embrace the truth that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. It shares sermons, articles, books, and daily devotionals that call believers to find their deepest joy in Christ.
What they do
Desiring God publishes a steady stream of articles, sermons, and books that explore Scripture and the Christian life, much of it drawn from John Piper's decades of preaching. Its Ask Pastor John program answers real questions about faith and living.
The ministry offers free access to nearly all of its resources online, including thousands of sermons and a large library of writing. It produces daily devotionals and seasonal reading guides to help believers stay in the word.
Through conferences, translations, and its website, Desiring God seeks to spread a vision of God-centered, joy-filled Christianity to as many people as possible.
The Scripture behind the work
Where the door leads
Desiring God proclaims that lasting joy is found in knowing Jesus Christ, who satisfies the soul more than anything the world offers. It invites people to treasure Christ above all. A helpful next step is to read a daily devotional or listen to an Ask Pastor John episode at desiringgod.org, then turn to the Scripture it opens.
Connect to the real thing
The Living Bread is a door, not the destination. The life is with Christ and his people.
