How to Find God's Will for Your Life

Wondering what God wants you to do? Here's a practical, biblical way to seek His direction, for big decisions and everyday ones.

God is not hiding His will from you like a puzzle to solve. Most of it is already clear in Scripture, and for specific decisions He guides those who trust Him and seek Him honestly.

Start with what's clear

God's revealed will, to love Him and others, to live in holiness and gratitude, is where guidance begins.

Pray and surrender

Ask honestly, and be willing to do whatever He shows you. Surrender comes before direction.

Seek wise counsel

God often speaks through trusted, godly people who know you and know Him.

Watch the doors

Notice which doors God opens and closes, and the circumstances He arranges.

Check your peace, then step

When a path aligns with Scripture, wise counsel, and settled peace, take a faithful step, and trust Him to guide as you go.

“That ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
