Faith When Life Falls Apart
Yes, there is a place for you, even now, when it feels like everything is coming apart at once. Jesus was in a boat when a storm nearly sank it, and he did not promise his friends there would be no storm. He promised to be in the boat with them. God does not always still the wind, but he is a refuge you can run to in the middle of it.

Sometimes trouble does not come one at a time. The job and the health and the relationship and the money all give way at once, and the ground you thought was solid turns out not to be. You are exhausted, maybe numb, maybe frightened, wondering how much more you can take or where God is in any of it. If that is where you are, this is not a lack of faith. This is being human in a hard hour.
Jesus in the storm
Crossing the sea, Jesus and his friends were caught in a storm so fierce the boat began to fill. He was asleep. They woke him in a panic, and he stood and spoke to the wind. He did not scold them for being afraid; he was with them in the boat the whole time.
An honest word
Faith does not keep the storms from coming. Jesus said plainly that in this world we will have trouble, and he never promised his followers a life without it. What he promised was himself, present in the boat, and a foundation that holds when everything built on sand washes away. You do not have to have it together to come to him. You do not have to clean yourself up first, or have the words, or feel any particular way. The living Christ welcomed people exactly where they were, and he still does.
