If loving Jesus, or even wondering about him, could cost you something, you are not the first. Jesus was honest that the world which rejected him might reject his followers too, and he never pretended it would be easy. But he also promised never to leave you, and he understands rejection from the inside. These pages are here to comfort you, to point you to him, and to walk gently, wisely, and safely.

Whatever brought you here, fear of your family, pressure from your community, grief for believers who suffer, or simply an honest question you are afraid to ask out loud, you are welcome. Nothing on these pages will push you to take risks or expose yourself. They are here to remind you that Christ meets the pressured with tenderness, not with a heavier burden.
If you feel afraid
Fear is not a failure of faith. Some of the bravest people in the Bible were afraid and prayed anyway. If your heart is pounding as you read this, that is understood here. You can bring the fear itself to God, exactly as it is.
A prayer, and a friend to turn to
Lord Jesus, you know what it is to be misunderstood and turned away. I bring you my fear and whatever this faith may cost me. Be near. Give me wisdom, courage where I need it, patience where I need that, and the quiet certainty that you will never leave me. Amen.
You do not have to carry this alone, and you do not have to prove anything to anyone. Jesus knew rejection from the inside, and he draws near to the frightened and the weary. If your heart is heavy, you can quietly bring it to him, and you can ask for prayer here, privately, in your own words.

- Is it wrong to be afraid of what following Jesus might cost?
- No. Fear is a human response, not a sin, and Scripture is full of afraid people who trusted God anyway. Jesus meets the fearful gently. You can bring your fear honestly to him and ask others to pray with you.
- Does the Bible promise Christians an easy life?
- No. Jesus said plainly, 'In the world ye shall have tribulation' (John 16:33), and warned that following him could bring rejection. What he promised was his presence, his peace, and a hope stronger than anything the world can take away.
- I am curious about Jesus but it could be dangerous for me. What should I do?
- Go gently and wisely. You can read and pray quietly and privately; God sees the heart. Faith is never recklessness, and you are never required to expose yourself to harm. See our page on exploring Christianity safely.
