In short
You start by coming to Jesus, who opened the way to God. Talk to Him honestly in prayer, trust Him with your life, begin reading the Bible, and join with other believers. A relationship with God begins the moment you turn to Him, and grows from there.God is not far off, waiting for you to become impressive. He is near, inviting you to know Him through Jesus. Begin simply: pray honestly, even a few words; read the Gospel of John; and do not walk alone, find a church or a group.
The first step is the whole thing: turn toward Him. He is already turned toward you.
