Who Was Saul in the Bible?
Saul was Israel's first king, tall and promising, whose reign unraveled through disobedience and jealousy, a sobering picture of a life that starts well but drifts from God.
Saul began humbly, a head taller than the people, chosen and anointed by Samuel. But when tested, he repeatedly disobeyed God's clear commands, offering unlawful sacrifice and sparing what God had told him to destroy, and then excusing himself.
