What Is the Point of Life?
The point of life, in the Christian understanding, is not to accumulate, achieve, or be admired. It is to know the God who made you, to love him, and to love the people around you. Jesus said to seek first the Kingdom of God, and the rest of life finds its place. Even the most ordinary day can carry that point, fully.
If the usual answers have run dry
Maybe you have done the things you were told would satisfy, the grades, the job, the milestones, and found a strange emptiness on the other side of them. That ache is not ingratitude. It is a clue. Jesus put the same thing as an invitation rather than a duty: stop trying to build your whole meaning out of things that pass away, and seek first the Kingdom of God. Then the ordinary goods of life, work, love, rest, take their proper, lighter place.
