Does My Life Matter?
Yes. Your life matters, immeasurably, and not because of what you have achieved or how you compare to anyone else. In the Christian view your worth is a gift, not a score. God made you on purpose, knows you by name, and counts you worth the life of his own Son. That is true even on the days you cannot feel it.
If you are not sure you matter
Sometimes this question comes after a loss, a failure, a comparison you keep losing, or a long stretch of feeling invisible. When you are exhausted, your worth can feel like something you have to prove all over again each morning, and never quite manage. Please hear this gently: what you feel about your value and what is true about your value are not the same thing.
What God says about your worth
Jesus said that God notices even a sparrow fall, and then turned it toward you.
Your worth in the Christian story is not earned and cannot be lost. It is given by the God who made you and calls you his own. You are his workmanship, not a rough draft to be discarded.
if you can, tell one trusted person how you have really been feeling. Being known by even one other human is often how the truth that you matter starts to become believable again.

- Does my life matter to God?
- Yes. Jesus said you are worth more than many sparrows, none of which fall without the Father's notice (Matthew 10:29-31). God knows you by name and calls you his own (Isaiah 43:1). Your worth is given, not earned.
- Do I matter even if I have not achieved anything?
- Yes. In the Christian view worth is not a score you post. You are God's workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), valued before you do anything at all. Achievement cannot add to it and failure cannot remove it.
- What if I feel worthless right now?
- Feelings of worthlessness are real and heavy, but they are not the final word on your value. Please talk to someone today. If you are thinking of harming yourself, contact a crisis line or your local emergency number now.
