What Does ‘Bread of Life’ Mean in the Bible?

The bread of life is Jesus' name for Himself as the true nourishment of the soul: the One who satisfies our deepest hunger and gives everlasting life.

In short

The bread of life is Jesus' name for Himself as the true nourishment of the soul: the One who satisfies our deepest hunger and gives everlasting life.

Just as bread sustains the body, Jesus said He is the bread that sustains the soul. He is the true bread come down from heaven, greater than the manna that fed Israel in the wilderness, which kept people alive for a day but could not give lasting life.

The Bible teaches that we do not live by bread alone but by every word from God. There is a hunger in us that physical food cannot touch. Jesus offers Himself as the bread that meets it: come to Him and you shall never hunger.

Bread of Life and Jesus

Jesus is the bread of life, and this platform takes its name from Him. He gave His body so that the hungry could be fed forever. Whatever emptiness you carry, He offers Himself as the food your soul was made for. Come to Him and be filled.
