You are mother and father, provider and comforter, all at once and often alone. The load is heavy and the days are long. These verses are for the single mom who needs to know that God sees her strength, shares her load, and will be a Father to her children.
What God says over single mothers
“A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.”
God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Come to Jesus, weary and heavy laden, and find rest for your soul.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
His mercies are new every morning; you can start again today.
“For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.”
Your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts, provider and defender.
Where this all leads
God has a special heart for the parent raising children alone, and He promises to be a Father to the fatherless and a defender of your home. Jesus never despised anyone the world overlooked. Lean the full weight of your load on Him; you are stronger than you know because He is holding you up, and He will not let you fall.
Lord, I am carrying so much, and some days it is too much. Be my strength and my help. Provide for my children and be the Father they need. Comfort me when I am lonely and lift me when I am worn out. Thank You for never leaving us. In Jesus name, amen.
You were never meant to walk this alone
The family here will pray with you, and you can hear how Christ has met others in the same place.
Psalm 68:5, where God is 'a father of the fatherless,' and Philippians 4:19 on God supplying every need, bring real comfort to single moms, along with Isaiah 41:10 for strength.
Does God help single parents?
Yes. Scripture shows God's special care for the vulnerable, promising to defend and provide for families without a father in the home (Psalm 68:5, Psalm 146:9) and to never forsake His people (Deuteronomy 31:6).
