The public Kingdom map
Praying now, around the world
Right now, somewhere, a believer is praying for someone they have never met. This page shows that, live, and shows it carefully: as numbers of people and regions of the earth, never as names, never as places precise enough to find anyone. The Body of Christ is alive, and this is a window onto it.

What you are looking at
Three things, each read the moment this page opens from the same open doors any developer can use. First, the number of people who prayed through The Living Bread in the last hour: someone who prayed for a request, joined a prayer, interceded for a person carrying something, left a prayer at a public place, or sent a spoken prayer to someone. Second, the countries where three or more people prayed in the last day. Third, soft lights over regions of the earth, each about 150 kilometres across, where three or more different people left prayers at public places such as churches, hospitals, campuses and parks.
Nothing here is decoration. If the last hour was quiet, the page says so. If no region has reached three people, the map stays dark and tells you why. A count on this page is always a count of real acts by real people, and it is never rounded up, padded, or estimated to look more alive than it is. The Body does not need to be exaggerated to be beautiful.
How the counts are made
A person is counted once, however many times they prayed. The count of the last hour is the number of distinct people whose prayers were recorded in that hour. The countries come from the country each person chose to put on their own profile, and a person who hid their location is not placed anywhere. A country appears only when three or more people there prayed in the window, because a smaller number can begin to point at someone.
The regions come from prayers left at public places by people who chose to let everyone see them. The exact spot is never used here. Each prayer is folded into a cell of the earth about 150 kilometres across, and a cell lights only when three or more different people prayed inside it. The light sits at the centre of the cell, not where anyone stood.
The acts that are counted
- Praying for a request: a believer reads what someone is carrying and tells them, I am praying for you.
- Joining a prayer: adding your name to the people praying over one request, so the person who asked can see they are not alone.
- Interceding for someone who is carrying something heavy today, from the family's daily list of burdens.
- Leaving a prayer at a public place: a church, a hospital, a campus, a memorial, a park, for whoever comes after.
- Sending a prayer to someone: written or spoken, delivered to the person it was prayed for.
Each of these is recorded at the moment it happens, by the person who did it, for the person it was for. None of them is inferred from reading, scrolling or opening the app. Spending time on a screen is not prayer, and this page will never count it as prayer.
What you will never see here
- A name, a face, a handle, or any way to reach a person.
- The words of anyone's prayer. Prayer is spoken to God; this page only counts that it happened.
- A point on the map where someone prayed, or any place finer than a region.
- Any country where following Jesus is dangerous. Those lands never appear, at any count, so that no believer in a closed land is made more visible by our love for them.
- Anyone under eighteen.
- A ranking of cities, churches or people. There is no leaderboard of prayer, because prayer is not a competition and no one's faith is measured by a number.
Why make prayer visible at all
Most prayer is hidden, and should be. Jesus taught His disciples to pray in secret (Matthew 6:6). So this page never shows a prayer. It shows something different: that people are praying, together, across borders, right now. A person who feels alone tonight may need to know only that. A church wondering whether anyone is out there may need to see the light over its own region. A believer far from home may be glad to see their country named.
The early church was known by its devotion to prayer together (Acts 2:42). The Living Bread exists to help people meet Christ, meet their family in Christ, pray, gather and serve, and then go and live it. A map of prayer is not the point. It is a door, and on the other side of it is a person who would gladly pray with you.
For the believer in a closed land
If you follow Jesus in a place where that is dangerous, you will not find your country on this page, and that is on purpose. You are not forgotten and you are not uncounted. Your prayers are heard by the same Father as everyone else's, and many of the people counted here pray for the persecuted church by name every week. Making you visible would be easy and it would be wrong. The protocol behind this page refuses, at the database, to publish anything from a closed land, at any count, so that our love for you can never become a map for someone who wishes you harm.
For a church watching its region
Pastors sometimes ask whether anyone near them prays. When three or more people in your region have left prayers at public places, a soft light appears over it. If it is dark, it may only mean that the people praying near you have not yet used The Living Bread, or that they prayed in their rooms, as most prayer is prayed. Either way, a dark region is an invitation, not a verdict. Gather your people for a prayer night, put a Pray for Me button on your church website, or walk your neighbourhood and pray for the homes you pass. The light on this map is never the measure of a church, and no church is ranked here.
A note on numbers and humility
Numbers about prayer are easy to misuse. A rising number can tempt a ministry to boast and a falling one can tempt a believer to despair, and neither has anything to do with whether God is listening. So this page keeps its numbers small, plain and present tense. It does not keep score over months, it does not compare one city to another, and it never turns a person's prayer into a statistic about them. It answers one question only: is the Body praying right now? The honest answer, almost always, is yes.
When the numbers are small, they are shown small. A count of three is three. The Living Bread will never inflate a number to look busier than it is, because a family that has to pretend is not a family, and because the One we pray to is truth itself (John 14:6).
How this page is built
The page itself is plain HTML with a few lines of JavaScript and no third party code: no map library, no tracking, no advertising cookie. When it opens, it asks three public endpoints for their current answers and draws what comes back. The world map is a simple grid in which longitude and latitude become left and right, up and down, and each region is a soft circle at its centre. If the endpoints cannot be reached, the page says so in words rather than showing an empty frame or an old number. Nothing about your visit is sent anywhere except the three requests for public counts, which carry no account and no identity.
If you are carrying something tonight
Perhaps you came to this page because you are alone with something heavy, and wanted to know whether anyone is awake and praying. They are. The numbers above are people, each one a believer who stopped what they were doing to carry someone else to God. You can be one of the people they carry. Asking for prayer on The Living Bread is free, you may stay anonymous, and real people read every request. If you are in danger, or thinking of harming yourself or someone else, please call your local emergency number or a crisis line first; the family will still be here afterwards, and so will Christ, who invites the weary to come to Him and find rest (Matthew 11:28).
Join them
If you would like prayer, you can ask the family to pray with you on The Living Bread, and real people will. If you would like to pray for someone, there is always someone waiting. If you lead a church or a ministry, you can put a Pray for Me button on your own website, so that a visitor who is carrying something can ask your people to pray, without leaving your page.

A compact live card of this page can be embedded anywhere with one line. It shows the same live, aggregate numbers and nothing more:

Every number on this page comes from public, aggregate doors that anyone may read: https://discover.living-bread.org/api/now, https://discover.living-bread.org/api/praying-now?hours=24 and https://discover.living-bread.org/api/places. They follow the rules of the Kingdom Protocol: counts of people never smaller than three where a place is named, regions never finer than about 150 kilometres, closed lands never shown. A developer can build a display for a church foyer, a prayer room screen, or an e-ink frame on a kitchen wall from the same data. The developer portal shows how.
Questions people ask
Is this everyone in the world who is praying?
No. It counts only prayers recorded through The Living Bread. Christians all over the earth pray without any app, and God hears every one. This page is a small window, honestly labelled, onto the part of that prayer that passes through this family.
Can someone find me from this page?
No. Your name, your words and your exact place never appear. Your country is counted only if you chose to show it on your profile and three or more people there prayed. A region lights only when three or more different people prayed inside it.
Why is my country missing?
Either fewer than three people there prayed in the window, or it is a land where a public Christian presence is unsafe. In both cases leaving it out is the loving thing to do.
How often does it change?
The numbers are read live when the page opens and are at most a minute old for the last hour and a few minutes old for the day.
Does praying here make my prayer count more?
No. A prayer prayed alone in a room with no phone in it is heard exactly as well as one recorded here. Recording an act of prayer helps the person you prayed for know they are carried, and helps the family see that it is alive. It does nothing to the prayer itself.
Can a church or a developer get these numbers?
Yes, the same aggregate numbers, from the same open doors, under the same rules. Nobody, including The Living Bread, publishes a finer version.
