De Geest geeft gaven, zegt Paulus, verdeelt aan ieder zoals Hij wil, voor het gemeenschappelijk welzijn en de opbouw van het lichaam. Profetie en onderwijs, dienen en geven, barmhartigheid en leiderschap, wijsheid en genezing. Elke pagina hieronder toont wat de gave is en hoe deze de kerk dient, en elke is omkaderd door Paulus' eigen nadruk dat zonder liefde de grootste gave niets is. Waar christenen verschillen over de vraag of een gave vandaag de dag voortduurt, zeggen we dat eerlijk.
