Meet Jesus in 5 Minutes
In about five minutes: Jesus of Nazareth lived, taught, healed, and welcomed the outcast. Christians believe he is God come near in a human life. He was crucified, and his followers say he rose from the dead. His central message was the love of God for ordinary, broken people, and an open invitation to come to him. You can read all of this privately, and decide nothing yet.
You can read here privately. You do not have to change your identity, tell anyone what you believe, or create an account. Nothing is asked of you, and nothing is decided today. You are simply welcome to come and see who Jesus is.
Who Jesus is
Jesus of Nazareth lived two thousand years ago in the land now called Israel and Palestine. He was a teacher, a healer, and a friend to the poor and the outcast. Christians believe he is more than a great man: that he is God come near, living a real human life among us out of love.
What he taught
At the center of everything he taught was love: love God, and love your neighbour as yourself. He went further than any teacher before him and said to love even your enemies. He welcomed the people everyone else pushed away.
The cross
Jesus was arrested and crucified. Christians believe he laid down his life willingly, to carry the weight of human wrong and open the way home to God, an act of love, not defeat.
The resurrection
His followers say that three days after he died, he rose again, and many of them saw him alive. It is the heart of the Christian hope: that death is not the end, and love has the last word.
His invitation
To all of this, Jesus adds a gentle invitation. Not a demand, not a threat. Simply, come.

Come and see who Jesus is
You do not have to decide anything to read his own words. When Andrew asked Jesus where he was staying, Jesus did not argue or press him. He simply said, “Come and see.” You can do the same, quietly and in your own time. The Gospel of Mark moves fast and shows what Jesus did; the Gospel of John is a gentle place to meet who he is. No account, no sign-up, no one told.
