What the Bible actually says
The verse says that no temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man, and that God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but will provide a way of escape. It is a promise about resisting sin, not a formula guaranteeing your grief will stay manageable. In fact, Paul elsewhere says he was burdened beyond his strength, so that he would rely not on himself but on God who raises the dead.
