Faith for the Poor
Yes, there is a place for you, and it is close to the heart of everything Jesus came to do. He opened his ministry by saying he was sent to preach good news to the poor, and he looked at the hard-pressed and said plainly, blessed are you. Being poor is not a mark against you before God. In his kingdom it is often the first seat, not the last.

Being poor is heavier than an empty wallet. It is the constant math, the choices between necessities, the stress that does not switch off, the way the world can treat you as though you count for less. There can be shame that is not deserved, and exhaustion from carrying it all. If that is your daily reality, you are not lazy, not lesser, and not forgotten. You are seen.
Good news for the poor
Jesus was born to a poor family, lived without a home of his own, and made the poor the first hearers of his good news. He did not merely pity them; he pronounced them blessed and put them at the center of his kingdom.
An honest word
Faith is not a promise that you will become rich, and anyone selling you that is not selling you Jesus. Believers know poverty too, and Scripture never treats it as a sign of God's displeasure. What faith offers is dignity that money cannot give or take away, a God who counts you rich in what matters, and a community meant to share, not to look down. Come and see
You do not have to clean yourself up first, or have the words, or feel any particular way. The living Christ welcomed people exactly where they were, and he still does. - Does God look down on poor people?
- No, the opposite. Jesus said his good news was for the poor and called them blessed (Luke 6:20). He was born poor and lived without a home. In God's kingdom, the poor are honoured, not despised, and your worth is not measured by your income.
- Will faith make me wealthy?
- No. The idea that faith guarantees wealth is not the message of Jesus, who himself was poor. Faith offers dignity, belonging, and a God who provides and cares, not a promise of riches. Be wary of anyone who says otherwise.
- I cannot make ends meet. What can I do?
- Please reach out for help rather than carrying it alone. Many churches and local services offer food, support, and guidance. Asking is a sign of strength, and you have every right to seek help near you.
