A Bible reading plan for

Men

7 days for the man you are becoming

This seven-day plan for men walks through what Scripture says about strength that serves, courage that trusts God, and integrity that holds when no one is watching. It is not about performance or posturing, but about becoming the kind of man God calls you to be, shaped by the example of Jesus.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”Joshua 1:9 (KJV)

The plan, day by day

  1. Day 1

    Joshua 1

Be strong and of a good courage. Real courage is rooted not in self-confidence but in the presence of God with you.

  2. Day 2

    Psalm 1

Blessed is the man who delights in the law of the Lord. A man's roots determine his fruit; what feeds you?

  3. Day 3

    Proverbs 4

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Guard the inner man, and the outer follows.

  4. Day 4

    1 Corinthians 16

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. And do it all in love, the very next words.

  5. Day 5

    Ephesians 6

Put on the whole armour of God. A man is called to stand and to fight the real battle, which is spiritual.

  6. Day 6

    Nehemiah 1

A man who wept, prayed, and then acted for something bigger than himself. Godly manhood joins prayer to action.

  7. Day 7

    Matthew 5

The Sermon on the Mount reshapes strength around meekness, mercy, and purity. This is the heart Jesus builds in a man.

A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.

Where this plan is leading

Jesus redefines strength. He was courageous enough to face the cross and humble enough to wash feet, powerful enough to still storms and tender enough to weep. True manhood is not found in dominance but in laying your life down in love, as He did. Follow Him, and He will make you the man He created you to be.

Questions people ask

What does the Bible say about being a man?

It calls men to courage rooted in God (Joshua 1:9), integrity and a guarded heart (Proverbs 4:23), strength exercised in love (1 Corinthians 16:13-14), and self-giving leadership modeled on Christ, who laid down His life (Ephesians 5:25). Biblical manhood is strength that serves, not strength that dominates.

What are good Bible passages for men?

Joshua 1, Psalm 1, Proverbs 4, Ephesians 6, and the example of men like Nehemiah and David are strong places to begin. Above all, the life of Jesus in the Gospels shows what true manhood looks like: courageous, humble, faithful, and loving. This plan draws several of these together.

How can a man grow spiritually?

By feeding on God's Word, staying rooted in prayer, guarding his heart and integrity, walking with other men who follow Christ, and taking responsibility to serve and lead in love at home, at work, and in the church. Growth is steady and daily, and it starts with simply showing up to time with God, as this plan invites.
