A Bible reading plan for
The Armor of God
7 days, one piece of armor each
The Christian life includes a real spiritual battle, and God has given real armor for it. This seven-day plan walks through the armor of God in Ephesians 6, one piece at a time, truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Spirit's sword, and prayer, so you can stand firm in Christ against everything that comes against you.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
The plan, day by day
Day 1
Put on the whole armour of God. See the battle clearly, and the full provision God gives for it.
Day 2
The belt of truth. Jesus is the truth; His word holds you together when lies assail you.
Day 3
The breastplate of righteousness. Not your own, but Christ's righteousness, guarding your heart.
Day 4
The shoes of the gospel of peace. Feet ready to stand and to carry the good news of peace with God.
Day 5
The shield of faith, quenching the fiery darts. Faith that trusts God's promises against every doubt.
Day 6
The helmet of salvation. The sure hope of salvation guards your mind from despair.
Day 7
The sword of the Spirit, the word of God, and praying always. Wield Scripture and pray without ceasing.
A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.
Where this plan is leading
Every piece of the armor is finally Christ Himself: He is our truth, our righteousness, our peace, our salvation, and the Word made flesh. To put on the armor is to put on the Lord Jesus Christ. The battle is real, but the victory is already His, and you fight from His triumph, not for it. Stand firm in Him, and you stand on ground that cannot be taken.

What is the armor of God?
In Ephesians 6:10-18, it is the spiritual equipment God gives believers to stand firm against evil: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, all surrounded by prayer.
How do I put on the armor of God?
By actively depending on what each piece represents: living in God's truth, resting in Christ's righteousness, standing on the gospel of peace, trusting God's promises in faith, holding the assurance of salvation, filling your mind with Scripture, and praying continually. It is less about a ritual and more about clothing yourself daily in Christ and His word.
Is spiritual warfare real?
The Bible presents it as real but calls believers to fight from a position of victory already won by Christ, not in fear. Ephesians 6 says our struggle is spiritual, and God has fully equipped us to stand. The armor is defensive and steadying; the point is to stand firm in Christ, who has already triumphed.
