A Bible reading plan for
Your Work Life
7 days for the working week
Most of your waking hours are spent working, and God cares about all of them. This seven-day plan reframes ordinary work, paid or unpaid, celebrated or unseen, as something done for God Himself, carried out with integrity and diligence, and woven into His purposes for your life.

The plan, day by day
Day 1
Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Your real boss is Christ.
Day 2
Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. Bring your work to God, and find direction.
Day 3
There is nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his own works. Work can be a gift, not just a grind.
Day 4
Study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands. A quiet, faithful diligence honors God.
Day 5
The parable of the talents. Faithfulness with what you have been given is what God commends.
Day 6
A working man of prayer who planned, labored, and trusted God to prosper the work of his hands.
Day 7
Joseph served with integrity in hard, unfair circumstances, and the Lord was with him. God sees your faithfulness.
A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.
Where this plan is leading
Jesus spent most of His life as a carpenter before He ever preached, dignifying ordinary work forever. He is Lord of your Monday as much as your Sunday. Whatever your job, you can do it as unto Him, and He redeems even frustrating, thankless work into something meaningful when it is offered to Him.

What does the Bible say about work?
It dignifies work as good and God-given, from the garden in Genesis onward, and calls us to do it heartily as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). It commends diligence and integrity (Proverbs), faithfulness with what we are given (Matthew 25), and honest, quiet labor (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Work is not separate from faith; it is an arena for it.
How can I honor God at work?
By working with integrity even when no one is watching, treating people fairly, doing your tasks well as service to Christ, being honest, and carrying His peace and kindness into a stressful environment. Joseph and Daniel show that faithful, excellent work in ordinary and even hostile settings is a powerful witness. Small daily faithfulness is how you honor God on the job.
What if I hate my job?
That is a real and common struggle. God does not waste it. You can bring your frustration honestly to Him, ask for wisdom about whether to stay or change, and in the meantime offer even hard work to Him, which gives it new meaning. Joseph served faithfully in unjust circumstances, and God was with him and had a purpose in it.
