Envy is the ache of comparison, wanting what someone else has and resenting them for having it. This seven-day plan brings that restless, corroding feeling into the light, and trades the endless measuring for gratitude, trust, and the settled peace of knowing your Father has good in mind for you.

The plan, day by day
Day 1
The psalmist envies the prosperous wicked until he sees the end. Envy always looks different in God's presence.
Day 2
Envy is the rottenness of the bones. It corrodes the one who carries it more than anyone else.
Day 3
Where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. Notice the fruit envy actually bears.
Day 4
Charity envieth not. Real love is glad at another's good, and that gladness can be learned.
Day 5
Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Envy loses ground as the Spirit bears new fruit in you.
Day 6
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious. Trust and delight in God crowd out the envy.
Day 7
Look not every man on his own things, but on the things of others. Free to serve, not to size others up.
A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.
Where this plan is leading
Jesus was handed over out of envy, and He answered it with self-giving love that had nothing to prove and nothing to grasp. In Him you already have the one treasure that cannot be outdone by anyone, so you can celebrate others without fear. His love frees you from the exhausting race of comparison.

What does the Bible say about jealousy and envy?
It treats envy as a corroding force, the rottenness of the bones (Proverbs 14:30), and a work of the flesh (Galatians 5:21) that breeds strife (James 3:16). Love, by contrast, does not envy (1 Corinthians 13:4). Scripture answers envy with gratitude, trust in God's good plans, and rejoicing in others' good.
How do I stop being jealous of others?
Bring the feeling honestly to God rather than feeding it, as the psalmist does in Psalm 73. Practice gratitude for what you have been given, celebrate others' blessings on purpose, and rest in the truth that your Father has good in mind for you. Comparison quiets as your eyes fix on God rather than on the person next to you.
Is there a difference between godly jealousy and sinful envy?
Yes. The Bible speaks of God's jealousy as His rightful, protective love for what is His. Sinful envy is the self-centered craving for what belongs to someone else. One guards a good relationship; the other poisons the heart. This plan addresses the second.
