The plan, day by day
Day 1
Teach these words to your children, talking of them at home and along the way. Faith is woven into daily life.
Day 2
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. A family can make a shared choice to follow God.
Day 3
Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord. Each generation passes the story on.
Day 4
Train up a child in the way he should go. Patient, loving shaping over many years.
Day 5
Children, obey your parents; fathers, provoke not your children. God speaks to the whole household with love.
Day 6
A picture of a home blessed as it walks in the ways of the Lord. Ask God to bless yours.
Day 7
Put on love, which is the bond of perfectness. The glue that holds a family is the love of Christ at work in it.
A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.

Aim for connection, not a perfect lesson. Even a few minutes builds a lasting foundation over the years.
What Bible passages are good for families to read together?
Deuteronomy 6, Joshua 24, the Psalms, Proverbs, the parables and stories of Jesus, and short New Testament passages on love all work well. This plan gathers passages that speak to both parents and children about following God together as a household.
How do I teach my kids about God when I do not know much myself?
You can learn alongside them. God does not require you to be an expert, only to point your children toward Him. Read together, be honest when you do not know an answer, look it up, pray simply, and model a real, growing relationship with God. Your genuine faith teaches more than perfect knowledge.
