The Bible does not give a tidy formula, but it does give a suffering Savior. Christians believe God permits suffering in a broken world for a time, yet entered it Himself in Jesus, and promises to redeem it and one day end it entirely.Suffering is real, and the Bible never pretends otherwise; it is full of lament. But the Christian answer is not mainly an explanation, it is a Person: a God who did not stay distant from our pain but took it on, dying on a cross.
He promises that for those who trust Him, no suffering is wasted, and a day is coming when He will wipe away every tear.
