In short
Christians hold the Bible to be the inspired, trustworthy word of God, written by many authors over centuries yet telling one story that points to Jesus Christ. It has been remarkably preserved, and millions have found it to be true in experience as well as history.The Bible is not one book but sixty-six, written across centuries, yet united around one message: God's love reaching down to rescue people through Jesus. Its manuscripts are exceptionally well attested, and its account of the human heart rings true in every age.
The best way to test it is to read it. Start with the Gospel of John and meet Jesus for yourself.
