What Does ‘The Second Coming’ Mean in the Bible?

The second coming is the promised future return of Jesus to the world: to raise the dead, judge all things, and make everything new.

The Bible teaches that the same Jesus who lived, died, rose, and ascended will come again, this time not in humility but in glory. His first coming was to save; His return will be to complete that salvation, to set right everything that is wrong, and to reign.

Christians hold different views on the details and timing, and it is honest to admit those differences. But the core hope is shared and sure: Christ will return, the dead will be raised, evil will be judged, and God will dwell with His people in a renewed creation where death and sorrow are no more.
