What Does the Bible Say About Rejection?

The Bible speaks to the sting of being rejected by pointing to a God who accepts us and a Saviour who was himself despised and rejected. Even if others turn away, Scripture promises the LORD will take us up, and that in Christ we are accepted in the Beloved. You may know rejection, but you are not finally rejected.

Rejection wounds because we are made for belonging. God does not minimise that; he answers it with a welcome that no one can revoke, grounded in Christ rather than in how others treat you.

The very Saviour you follow knows rejection from the inside. He was turned away by his own, so when you are excluded or dismissed, you are never misunderstood by him.

The deepest answer is Jesus

Jesus, the rejected stone, became the cornerstone, and he promises that anyone who comes to him will never be cast out.
