What Does ‘Testimony’ Mean in the Bible?

Testimony is a witness: God's own testimony in His word and works, and our telling of what God has done in our lives.

A testimony is the account of a witness, someone reporting what they have seen and know to be true. In the Bible the word points two ways. It describes God's testimony, His statutes and the record He gives of Himself, and it describes the witness His people bear to what He has done.

A personal testimony has quiet power because it is simply true: this is what I was, and this is what God did. The man born blind put it plainly, one thing I know, that I once was blind, and now I see. No argument can erase a life that has been changed.
