The Crowns of the Bible: From the Crown of Thorns to the Crown of Glory
The King of kings is crowned twice in Scripture. Once, soldiers press a crown of thorns onto his head and mock him. Later, John sees him wearing many crowns, and every rescued elder casts a crown down before his throne. Between those two images runs a thread of crowns: the crown of life promised to the faithful, the crown of righteousness, the crown of glory that does not fade, the incorruptible crown, and the sober warning of the crown of pride. Each page below follows one crown through Scripture, tells honestly where its meaning is stated and where it is drawn out, and shows how the whole thread leads to Jesus, who took our thorns and is now crowned with glory and honour.
