Purpose and Meaning
You are not an accident. God made you on purpose, knew you before you were born (Jeremiah 1:5), and created you in Christ for good works He prepared in advance (Ephesians 2:10). Even the hard threads of your life He works toward good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28), and His plans for you are for peace and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Your life has meaning because it belongs to the God who made it.
Key verses about purpose
What Jesus taught about purpose
Jesus lived with unmistakable purpose. As a boy He said, 'I must be about my Father's business' (Luke 2:49), and as a man, 'my meat is to do the will of him that sent me' (John 4:34). He gave His followers a purpose bigger than themselves: to love one another, to be salt and light (Matthew 5), and to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). The greatest life, He taught, is not one of gain but one poured out in love and service.
