Psalm Chapter 91, Explained
Psalm 91 is a psalm of protection and refuge. The one who dwells in the secret place of the Most High rests under the shadow of the Almighty, safe as a chick beneath a mother's wings. It names real terrors, the arrow that flies by day and the pestilence that walks in darkness, and answers each one with the nearness of God.
Its promises are not a charm against all hardship but a portrait of the security of trusting God through it. The psalm ends in God's own voice, pledging to be with His people in trouble, to deliver them, and to satisfy them with long life and His salvation, because they have set their love on Him.
