What happened at Pentecost

After Jesus rose and returned to the Father, His followers waited together in prayer, as He had told them to. Then the Holy Spirit came upon them like wind and fire, and ordinary, frightened people were filled with power and began to tell the good news in every language of the crowd. That day the Church was born, and it has never stopped growing since.
