Peace
The peace God gives is not the absence of trouble but His presence within it, a steadiness the world cannot give and cannot take away (John 14:27). It comes as we fix our minds on God and trust Him (Isaiah 26:3), and as we trade anxiety for prayer, letting the peace of God guard our hearts (Philippians 4:6-7). In Christ we can have peace even while the world is in turmoil, because He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
Key verses about peace
What Jesus taught about peace
Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). He slept through a storm and then stilled it with a word, asking, 'Where is your faith?' He said, 'my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth' (John 14:27), and 'in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world' (John 16:33). After the resurrection, His first words to frightened disciples were, 'Peace be unto you.'
