A movement where Christ is named

Frontiers

Prayer & missions · Founded 1982 · by Greg Livingstone · Phoenix, Arizona, United States

Frontiers is a Christian missions organization founded in 1982 by Greg Livingstone, focused on sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ among Muslim peoples. It sends and supports teams who live among these communities, build genuine friendships, and seek to plant churches. Frontiers emphasizes long term, relational witness carried out with respect and love, so that people who have had little chance to hear about Jesus can come to know Him.

What they do

Frontiers forms and sends teams who settle among Muslim communities, learn the language and culture, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ through everyday friendships and honest conversation. Their central hope is to see fellowships of new believers and churches take root within these communities.

Frontiers stresses love, respect, and patience as the way to carry the message of Christ, avoiding coercion and instead trusting the Holy Spirit to draw people to Jesus. It recruits, trains, and cares for workers from many countries, supporting them through the challenges of cross cultural life so they can serve faithfully over the long term.

The Scripture behind the work

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;”

Where the door leads

Frontiers longs for Muslim peoples to encounter the love of Jesus Christ and to follow Him. Its work of friendship, service, and church planting is meant to remove barriers so people can meet the Savior. If you are exploring, you might read the Gospel of John and ask God to show you the truth about Jesus, who welcomes all who come to Him.
