John Chapter 14, Explained
John 14 is spoken on the last night before the cross, and it is full of comfort for troubled hearts. Jesus tells His disciples not to be afraid, for He is going to prepare a place for them in His Father's house and will come again to take them to Himself. When Thomas asks how they can know the way, Jesus answers, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me.
He promises that those who have seen Him have seen the Father, and that He will not leave them as orphans but will send the Holy Spirit to be with them forever. The chapter closes with His gift of peace, a peace unlike anything the world can give, so that their hearts need not be troubled or afraid.
