How to Start a Prayer Life

Prayer is simply honest talking with God, and you can start today with no special words. Pick a regular time, be honest about your thanks, your sorries, your worries, and your requests, keep it short at first, and listen as well as speak. Jesus gave his friends a simple model prayer to begin with. A prayer life grows the way any friendship does, a little at a time.

Prayer is just honest conversation

You do not need eloquence, a certain posture, or the right vocabulary. God wants your heart, not a performance. Jesus even warned against praying to impress, and told his friends to keep it simple and real.
