If you want to go to church this Easter but feel nervous or out of practice, please know you are wanted there. You do not need the right clothes, words, or beliefs figured out. Easter is for beginning again. Find a welcoming church near you and come as you are.

Easter is for beginners and for returners

Maybe it has been years. Maybe you have never gone. Maybe you walked away hurt, or just drifted, and are not sure you would be welcome back. Easter is the answer to that fear. It is the day the church celebrates a fresh start bought at great cost, and there is a place in it for you, no questions asked at the door.

You will not be quizzed, cornered, or made to feel out of place. Easter services are bright and full and glad, and many of the people around you will be there for the first time in a long time too. You can sit near the back, sing or stay quiet, and simply be part of it.

The door He leaves open

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
John 6:37 · King James Version

Whatever the reason you stepped away, Jesus says He will never turn away the one who comes to Him. That promise is the whole heart of Easter. If you have been wanting to come back, this is your morning.

Jesus, it has been a long time, and I am not sure how to come back. But You said You would never cast out the one who comes. So here I am, this Easter, turning toward You again. Receive me. Amen.
