There is a place for you
Faith for Single People
Yes, there is a place for you. Jesus himself lived his whole life single, and he honoured the unmarried without ever treating them as unfinished or waiting. In his family there are no second-class members. Your worth is not measured by whether you are partnered, and God sets the solitary in families.
If this is you
Being single can be a good and full life, and it can also carry a quiet ache: the empty side of the bed, the events you attend alone, the well-meaning questions, the sense in some churches that everything is built for couples and children. Sometimes it is chosen, sometimes it is not. Either way, the loneliness is real, and it deserves to be named without being fixed or pitied.
Jesus made room for people like you
Jesus was never married, and he is the one Christians follow. He surrounded himself with friends, some married and some not, and treated singleness as a whole life, not a holding pattern.
An honest word
Faith will not guarantee you a spouse, and it is not a strategy for finding one. What it offers is different and deeper: a family that is not built on romance, a Father who sets the solitary in a household, and a place where you are wanted for yourself. Marriage is honoured in the Bible, and so is singleness. Neither one is the measure of a person.
Come and see
You do not have to clean yourself up first, or have the words, or feel any particular way. The living Christ welcomed people exactly where they were, and he still does. You are invited to come as you are and see for yourself. The Gospel of John is a gentle place to begin, and it asks nothing of you but a little quiet and an honest look.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the Bible say singleness is worse than marriage?
- No. The Bible honours both. Jesus lived single, and Paul described singleness as a good calling with its own freedom to serve God (1 Corinthians 7:32-35). Marriage is a blessing, and so is singleness. Neither measures a person's worth.
- Where do single people fit in a church?
- Fully, as members of God's family, not as guests waiting for a spouse. A healthy church makes real room for single people in friendship, service, and belonging. If a church only speaks to couples, that is the church's blind spot, not your failing.
- Is it wrong to want to be married?
- No. The longing for companionship is good and God-given. You can hold that desire honestly before God while also receiving the fullness of life he offers you now. Faith does not require you to pretend you feel no ache.
