Churches Helping Churches
Some churches have more than they need; some have less than they can carry. This is an invitation for the strong to come alongside the small, congregation to congregation, sharing resources, wisdom, prayer, and practical help. It is a vision of the body carrying its own weaker members, and the honest truth is that it works only when real churches say yes to each other.
The vision
In one body, when a member suffers, the whole body feels it. We picture stronger churches quietly coming alongside those who are struggling: covering the cost of tools, sharing sermons and study material, lending experience, praying by name, and standing with a church through a hard season. Not charity handed down, but family bearing one another’s burdens.
How it could work
- A church that has capacity tells us it wants to help, and what it can offer.
- A church that needs support tells us honestly what would lift the load.
- We help make the introduction and stay out of the way, so it becomes a real relationship, not a transaction.
This is described as the vision. We are not going to claim a tally of churches already matched; the point is the invitation, and the willingness it asks for.
How to begin
Whether you can give help or need it, begin through the church path and say which. There is no shame in either direction; both are how the body is meant to work.
Frequently asked questions
- How can a stronger church help a smaller one?
- By sharing what it has: covering the cost of tools, passing on sermons and study resources, lending experience, praying for the church by name, and standing with it through a difficult season. It is family coming alongside family.
- Our church needs help. Is it awkward to ask?
- It should not be. Scripture tells us to bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2), and a church that asks is doing exactly what the body is for. Reach out through /for-churches and say plainly what would help.
- Are churches already being matched this way?
- Honestly, this is an invitation more than a running program. We are not going to publish numbers we do not have. If you say yes, whether to give or to receive, you help make it real.
Let us begin the conversation
This is an honest invitation, not a finished program with a waiting list. If any of this stirs something in you, the best next step is simply to reach out. Tell us who you are and what you carry, and we will meet you where you are. The work of the Kingdom is built by ordinary people saying yes to one another, and there is a place at the table for you.
