A Bible reading plan for
Someone Exploring Faith
7 days, no pressure, start with Jesus
If you are curious about Jesus but not sure what you believe, welcome. You do not need to have it figured out to begin. This seven-day plan starts where the whole faith centers, on Jesus Himself, so you can meet Him in the Gospels, weigh His words, and see for yourself who He is.
“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”John 20:31 (KJV)
The plan, day by day
Day 1
In the beginning was the Word. Meet Jesus at the center of everything, the Word made flesh who came to us.
Day 2
The fast-moving opening of the shortest Gospel. Watch what Jesus does, and how people respond to Him.
Day 3
Ye must be born again. A late-night conversation about the new life Jesus offers, and the famous John 3:16.
Day 4
Three stories about a God who searches for the lost. This is the heart of the God you are exploring.
Day 5
I am the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus makes a staggering claim; consider it honestly.
Day 6
Jesus raises Lazarus and says, I am the resurrection, and the life. A preview of His power over death.
Day 7
The empty tomb and the risen Jesus. Everything in the Christian faith rests on whether this happened.
A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.
Where this plan is leading
Christianity is not first a set of rules or a religion to adopt; it is a Person to meet. John wrote his Gospel, he says, so that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, and that believing you might have life. Read looking for Him, ask Him honestly to show you if He is real, and let the evidence of His life, death, and resurrection speak. He welcomes honest seekers.

Where should I start if I am curious about Christianity?
Start with Jesus, not with rules or church history. Read one of the Gospels, the accounts of His life, beginning with John or Mark. Christianity centers on the person of Jesus, so the best way to explore it is to meet Him directly in the Gospels, which is exactly what this plan helps you do.
Do I have to believe already to read the Bible?
Not at all. Many people came to faith by reading the Gospels while still unsure. You can read as an honest investigator, weighing the evidence and asking questions. A simple, open prayer, God, if you are real, show me, is a good place to begin, and God is not offended by honest seeking.
What if I have doubts or questions?
Questions are welcome. Jesus engaged thoughtful skeptics patiently, and the Bible never asks for blind belief. Bring your doubts as you read; explore them rather than bury them. Faith that has honestly wrestled is often the sturdiest kind. You can also talk with a Christian or ask to pray with someone as you go.
