What does it mean to forgive?
Answer
To forgive is to release a debt, letting go of your right to revenge, without pretending the wrong did not hurt. It does not always mean restored trust or the removal of consequences. Christians forgive because God first forgave us, choosing mercy while still telling the truth about what happened.
