What is Christmas?
Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, when God so loved the world that he came into it as a child. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and the good news is announced to all people, a Saviour is born. It is the wonder that the maker of the stars was laid in a manger.

How it is observed
It is kept on December 25 with worship, giving, and joy, the heart of the Christmas season.
Western and many Eastern churches keep December 25; some Orthodox churches observe it in January by the Julian calendar.
