What Does the Bible Say About Surrender to God?

The Bible teaches that the way to truly find our lives is to surrender them to God, presenting ourselves to him as a living sacrifice and taking up our cross to follow Christ. What this means for you today

Surrender sounds like loss, but Scripture presents it as the great exchange: we give up our small, self-run lives and receive God's larger, better life in return. We lose control and gain a Father we can trust.

This is a daily choice, not a one-time event, taking up the cross afresh each morning. And it is always answered by grace, for the One we surrender to loves us and carries what we hand over to him.

The deepest answer is Jesus

Jesus surrendered fully to the Father, even to the cross, and in that surrender our salvation was won; he leads us into the freedom of a life given wholly to God.
