What Does the Bible Say About Spiritual Growth?

The Bible describes the Christian life as a journey of growth from spiritual infancy toward maturity in Christ, likened to a plant bearing fruit and a runner in a race. It calls us to grow in grace and knowledge, to feed on God's Word, and to be confident that the God who began a good work in us will complete it.

You do not grow by trying harder in your own strength but by staying connected to Christ and letting his Spirit work. And you can be confident: the God who started the work in you has promised to finish it.

The deepest answer is Jesus

Jesus is both the goal and the gardener of our growth, and he has committed himself to completing the good work he began in everyone who is his.
