What Does the Bible Say About Stewardship?

The Bible teaches that everything we have belongs to God and is entrusted to us to manage for his purposes. We are stewards, not owners, called to be faithful with money, time, gifts, and creation, and one day to give account. Faithful stewardship is not about how much we have but about what we do with it.

Stewardship shifts the question from how much is mine to how faithfully am I managing what is God's. It frees us from both hoarding and anxiety, because the owner is trustworthy and the resources are his.

This applies to money, but also to time, abilities, relationships, and the world around us. Faithfulness in small things, Jesus says, prepares us for greater trust, and it is always noticed by God.

The deepest answer is Jesus

Jesus, the faithful Son who did all the Father gave him to do, shows us what a faithful steward looks like, and gives us grace to manage his gifts for his glory.
